Orientation

Central Clinical Orientation will be held the week of Thanksgiving. The Epic training normally scheduled for Thursday (11/27) and Friday (11/28) will shift to Monday (12/1) and Tuesday (12/2). Northridge Skills Days will shift to 12/3-12/5. 

Ambulatory Thanksgiving impacts: Ambulatory team members hired during the Thanksgiving cycle will attend Clinical Practice Essentials on 12/10 and Northridge Skills Day on 12/15. Their schedule will be:  Monday HR Orientation, Tuesday Virtual Central Clinical Orientation, Epic classes Monday (for Thursday classes) or Tuesday (for Friday classes).

Nursing Professional Development Services, in a partnership with Human Resources, Nursing Education Coordinators, and Subject Matter Experts, provides new hire nurses and allied health clinical roles a variety of content and learning opportunity occurring during the first two weeks of hire. Clinical Orientation supports a new clinical team member's enculturation into the health system while providing education of high-priority content. The content is divided into 5 sections:

Day 1:  Human Resources Content

Day 2:  Central Clinical Orientation

Day 3:  Clinical Practice Essentials (inpatient and ambulatory sessions available)

Days 4-5:  Epic Training from the Epic Training team (amount of class time required depends on role, prior training, and work location)

Days 6-8: Northridge Skills Days (time commitment dependent on experience level)
