Resources to Prepare for Your Certification Exam

Relias – Online Continuing Education

UVA provides over 900 hours of certification test preparation resources to make it easy for Nurses to become certified and stay certified! Relias (previously CE Direct) is available to UVA University Medical Center RNs through Workday and offers both certification review courses and continuing education hours for maintaining your professional board certification.

To log into Relias:

  • Log into Workday
  • Use the Workday menu to select “Learning”
  • At the top, you will see an image of the Relias Continuing Education portal. Click on “Access Courses”

Accessing the certification preparation resources in Relias:

  • Click on “Course Library” in the left-hand menu
  • Using the top-right search bar “Search Course Library”, search by topic/specialty or acronym of the professional board certification you are interested in
    • Do not use “Filter” option to enroll
  • Review the available options
  • Select the course and click “Enroll”
  • Click on “Assignments” in left-column menu to access and complete the courses you enrolled in
  • For your convenience, an index of available review courses listed alphabetically by certification acronym is linked here.  (TIP: to easily locate a specific certification, press Ctrl + F at the same time while in the document.  You can search by certification acronym, name, or key words.)  Additionally, a listing of CCRN and PCCN courses in Relias can be reviewed by clicking here.

Transcripts:

You may access and download your Relias transcripts from the left-hand menu. These are specific to Relias (previously CE Direct) and are not included in your Workday Learning transcript. Be sure to track and save these separately.

Professional Organizations provide resources to prepare for taking their related professional board certification exams.  Review their website and considering becoming a member to access a wealth of resources and information to support achieving and maintaining your professional board certification.

Click here to review a list of professional organizations to consider joining at the local, regional and/or national level. Additionally, ask your colleagues and manager for insight on the most applicable professional organizations for your specialty area.
