Orientation

Nursing Professional Development Services, in a partnership with Human Resources, Nursing Education Coordinators, and Subject Matter Experts, provides new hire nurses and allied health clinical roles, a variety of content and learning opportunity occurring during the first two weeks of hire. Clinical Orientation supports a new clinical team member's enculturation into the health system while providing education of high-priority content. The content is divided into 3 sections:

Day 1 and 2:  Central Clinical Orientation

Day 3:  Clinical Practice Essentials (inpatient and ambulatory sessions available)

Days 4-5:  Epic Training from the Epic Training team (amount of class time required depends on role, prior training, and work location)

Days 6-8: Northridge Skills Days (time commitment dependent on experience level)
