No matter what your career goals are, there are courses available to support your leadership professional development for both formal and informal leaders.

For Formal Leaders:

Nurse Leader Development Program

Purpose

The Press Ganey Nurse Leader Development Curriculum Program is an eight-class series crafted to elevate the leadership acumen and professional capabilities of nursing practitioners. The curriculum is designed to be taken sequentially, offering nursing professionals a progressive and comprehensive learning journey, ultimately empowering them to excel as influential leaders and positively impact patient outcomes and overall care quality.

Program Structure

The Nurse Leader Development Program is offered three times a year. Classes are held in-person every other Wednesday and each class lasts 2-3 hours each. Class attendance is required. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a total of 18.5 contact hours.

UVA Health, Nursing Professional Development Services, is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

For Informal Leaders:

In Workday, select Tasks and Reports and type "Browse Learning Content" into the search bar to navigate to the "Browse Learning Content" Report. Use the filters on the left or the search bar below the Browse Learning Content title to find courses on leadership.
