Reimbursement

Funding assistance for certification is part of UVA Employee Benefits through the UVA HR Education Benefits Program. The UVA Education Benefits Program website provides details on eligible courses and eligible Medical Center employees.

The expense of original certification exam fees and recertification fees paid out-of-pocket may be reimbursed up to $500 for eligible team members each calendar year. Funding for professional certification can be provided EITHER as advance funding OR as a reimbursement after successful completion of the course or professional credentialing certification.

Good to know:

Reimbursement is provided in the calendar year it is requested, unless it is past the annual deadline established and communicated by HR.  If a request is submitted past this deadline, it will be included in the next calendar year’s total.
