RN Rec Board Instructions
STEP 1 - Create a list of all the nurses who will be displayed in your area. Save this for updating ease!
- For small teams - it is probably easiest to look them up individually in Workday by going to their profile and looking at their Career tab. There you will find specialty certifications and degrees.
- For larger teams - Run Workday Reports for Certifications using this Job Aid. If you don’t know the certified nurse’s degree, you may also need to look up their degrees in their career tab of their Workday Profile. If you want to run a nursing degree report, you can do that using this job aid.
- You may want to include others who are not in your Workday lists but make sense to include. Example- APNs that are physically located in your area, but report to a different leader.
- Order of credentials (reference): Highest Nursing Degree Earned, Licensure, State Designations/Requirements (like NP, CNS), National Certifications, Awards/Honors.
- Examples: John Doe, BSN, RN, CCRN or Jane Doe, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN
- For ALL teams: *Solicit feedback from nurses regarding how they wish to have their name displayed. For example, whether to display their full name versus first name & first initial of last name only, OR perhaps they prefer to go by their middle name instead of their legal given first name.
STEP 2- Create the Display
- Select your template based on the number of nurses you will include on your display. Usually, this means one Template & one Order Form per department/unit. If you are ordering for multiple areas reflecting different lists of certified nurses, submit a separate Template & Order Form for each of those different lists.
- Physical Displays Templates (most common)
- Click here to select a template
- Use the list you created in Step 1 to enter the names & credentials on the display template and save it for future updating ease and physical display orders.
- Convert your template to a PDF (required). Click here for instructions to convert template to PDF
- TIP- It is recommended to save your Powerpoint template before converting to a PDF file so you may edit the file for future recognition board update orders instead of having to recreate the file all over from scratch each time.
- eSignage Displays Guidelines
- Click here to select a template
- Use the list you created in Step 1 to enter the names & credentials on the display template and save it for future updating ease and physical display orders.
- In order to keep the proper aspect ratio for display, the largest template for eSignage will hold only 10 names. Areas with MORE THAN 10 certified nurses will need to complete multiple templates. For example, an area with 24 certified nurses may choose to complete the 8 name template three times saving each completed template separately.
- Submit your complete template(s) via email to the individual who maintains the digital displays for your area.
- You may skip steps 3 and 4 below. They are for areas with physical displays only.
